Our Story
Trail runners.
Mujeres fuertes.
One familia.
Chingonas on the Run began in May 2022, when two Latina coaches, Daisy Martinez and Melissa Perez, met and were fueled by a desire to get more mujeres on the trail. They teamed up and formed Chingonas on the Run, an all-women trail running group.
We know how intimidating it can be to try something new. Through Chingonas on the Run, we foster opportunity and community for Southern California Chingonas of all levels, whether it's their first time on the dirt or their 100th.
We are here to empower and create a safe space for our comunidad to run on the trails.
About Our Comunidad
Chingonas on the Run is a trail running club based in the San Gabriel Valley, with members across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties. We're open to cis women, trans women, and non-binary runners, from complete beginners lacing up for their first trail to elite athletes training for their next ultra.
We run together. We camp together. We show up for each other on race day and any day in between.
Trail running can be an intimidating sport to break into, from the gear to the terrain to the culture, and COTR exists to make it less so, one mile at a time.
This isn't just a running club.
It's a familia.
